Pieter Leopold

Attorney at law | Advocaat-Partner

As a specialist in energy law, Pieter helps clients navigate the legal challenges of the energy transition. His practice focuses on market regulation and complex contracts for wind and solar farms, battery storage, and innovative collaborations such as cable pooling.

He lays the foundation for successful projects by negotiating and drafting energy contracts (including power purchase agreements) and advising on contractual and regulatory issues. Where necessary, he assists clients in energy-related disputes before the regulatory authority and in court.

Before becoming a partner at Mobius in 2023, Pieter worked as a lawyer at the Dutch regulator ACM (Authority for Consumers and Markets) and subsequently as an attorney at two major law firms in Amsterdam’s Zuidas financial district. He frequently shares his in-depth knowledge as a lecturer (including at the renowned

Grotius Academy) and as a speaker at conferences and seminars. Pieter is a member of the Dutch Energy Law Association (NeVER).
Pieter earned his law degree in Amsterdam (International & European Law, 2015). Alongside his work, he serves as a board member of the Amsterdam Union of Volunteers.
