Marius van der Torren is a lawyer specializing in corporate and real estate law. He has extensive experience guiding complex transactions in the real estate and renewable energy sectors. In this capacity, he is involved in drafting and negotiating a wide range of transaction documents, such as purchase agreements for shares or (real estate) assets, lease agreements, and shareholders’ agreements.
He advises a broad spectrum of parties in these sectors, including developers, investors, financiers, and end-users. As a corporate lawyer, he also focuses on corporate governance and corporate structuring, enabling him to support clients on various aspects of a transaction.
Marius is one of the founders of Mobius Advocaten. Previously, he worked for a considerable time in the real estate team and later in the corporate M&A team at Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman). At A&O Shearman, he gained significant experience in challenging and market-leading transactions. Consequently, he understands the dynamics of transactions and is exceptionally focused on bringing them to a successful conclusion.
Marius studied law at Leiden University, where he obtained his Master’s degree in Financial Law cum laude. He subsequently completed an internship at one of South America’s most prominent law firms before joining A&O Shearman. In 2020, he completed the postgraduate specialization program in Mergers & Acquisitions at VU University Amsterdam, also cum laude.
